Attitude determines a lot about a situation. We feel like we aren't in control of what happens, but we're in control of how we respond.
Two different situations:
- You're in the hallway and you get shoved. You generally have a negative response.
- You're in the hallway and you drop some money. Someone gives it back to you, letting you know you dropped it. You generally have a positive response.
Your actions lead to your habits, your habits develop what your character is (who you are), and your character determines your future. Where do you see your future based on where you are right now? If you don't like what you see for your future, you can change. It will be hard to stay committed to the change, but it can make your future better. You can change your life, but you have to change your attitude first.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. ~Colossians 3:2 (NIV)
